On Friday, February 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 300 students ages 10 to 18 will showcase their impressive trades and technology talents in the Skills Canada Vancouver Island North regional competition at North Island College's 夜色app campus.

Senior students will take part in hands?on and creative challenges in areas such as Auto, Baking, Carpentry, Cabinetmaking, Culinary Arts, Electronics, Robotics, Welding, Video Production, 2D and 3D Computer Animation, Digital Art, Graphic Design, and Photography.

Junior participants will explore engineering and problem?solving through engaging events including Gravity Car, Potential Energy Vehicle, Spaghetti Bridge Building, Wind Turbine Construction, and LEGO Mindstorm Robotics.

Everyone is welcome to attend either in-person or through the online live stream link that will be added here the Friday before the meeting. A recording of this meeting will be posted, usually within 24 hours from the meeting, on the .

Early cross catchment transfer applications for the 2026-2027 school year are open from Monday, February 2 to Friday, February 27 at 4:00 p.m. Requests submitted during this time will be reviewed and families will be notified by the week before spring break.

Parents, students and community members are invited to the district's music showcase on Thursday, March 5 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Timberline Secondary gym. Admission is by donation.
