Family Webinar: Responding to Unforeseen & Frightening Events

The Ministry of Children and Family Development¡¯s Child & Youth Mental Health team is offering a free online webinar with information on how to help children and youth after frightening events.

2025-2026 Budget Development Process

Partner group consultations to develop the 2025-2026 operating budget will begin in April.

Summer School 2025 Update!

Information about Summer School courses and how to register will be shared with families after Victoria Day, during the week of May 19. Registration will officially open on May 26 at 9 a.m.

    DPAC meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month (except for December, March and June, when no meetings are held) at 7:00 pm at the school board office, 425 Pinecrest Road. This is the final meeting for the 2024-2025 school year.

? Otter Update! ? Our district¡¯s critical response and trauma service dog, Otter, just celebrated his first birthday with a pupcake party out on the field at Cedar Elementary! ?? Over the past year, Otter has become a trusted and comforting presence for students and staff across ¡ªespecially during tough moments. We¡¯re also proud to share that Otter has been awarded a grant from the ҹɫapp Community Foundation to help cover the cost of his first year of training and certification¡ªrecognizing the important and compassionate role he plays every day in our schools. ? Here¡¯s what else is new with Otter: ?? Currently completing his facility therapy dog assessment ?? Earning his level 3 obedience certification ?? On track to achieve psychiatric service dog credentials this fall ?? Handler Sherry Laffling, SD72 elementary counsellor, is now certified in animal-assisted intervention Otter¡¯s impact is growing¡ªand we¡¯re so grateful to have him as part of our team. Happy Birthday, Otter! ?

?? The energy was electric at ?cole Willow Point on Friday, April 25! Bilingual rapper and femcee Missy D, along with DJ Slippee, gave a powerful performance for our French immersion students ¡ª including those from ?cole des Deux Mondes, ?cole Phoenix Middle and Carihi Secondary ¡ª as part of their Vancouver Island tour and thanks to the support of #immersart! See the smiles, bobbing heads, and joy that filled the room. Merci, Missy D and DJ Slippee, for the unforgettable visit!
